Born in a political family, Anurag was bound to join politics and leave his mark. Prem Kumar Dhumal, father of Anurag was the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. Anurag Thakur has been elected as MP for three times in 14th, 15th and 16th Loksabha.

This 41 years old Member of Parliament is not a stereotyped politician, who engages in debauchery or someone who believes in racism. Anurag is the modern youth, who main matter of interest is Nation’s development and pride. Anurag Thakur was selected the chief of BCCI unopposed not because he comes from a political household but because of his past performance and capability.

Political Career:

Anurag Thakur succeeded his father and won a seat to Parliament in 14th Loksabha elections held in 2004. Anurag has been re-elected to Parliament in 15th and 16th Lok Sabha elections as well. Anurag Thakur is continuously rising in the chart and is certainly not someone who will care to look back and feel sad about missing onto opportunities.

Anurag was elected for Parliament in 2014 with a record vote and was also awarded with Best Young Parliamentarian Award in 2011. Anurag continues to be one of the youngest members of parliament. Anurag Thakur is not only representing the constituency of Hamirpur but also the hopes of modern youth.

Cricketing Career: The New Era of Board of Cricket Control in India has begun

We all have heard the demands of BCCI to be managed by cricketers and not politicians; well with Anurag Thakur handling the chair of Chief at BCCI, the demand is being half-filled. Anurag Thakur is someone who played national cricket with interest.

Anurag Thakur has played U-19 cricket against England and has also captained Punjab u-19 team. He also won U-19 All India Championship while captaining U1-9 North India.

According to Wikipedia, Anurag Thakur is known to play a crucial role in development of exquisite cricket stadium in Dharamshala.

The fact that International Team of Afghanistan comes to India and practices at Dharamshala Cricket Ground is a truth because we have people Anurag Thakur handling the game. This man aims to make cricket accessible to one and all.

The efforts he is putting as an administrator is taking Indian Cricket forward. With the new people like Sourav Ganguly, Lakshman and Anil Kumble being a part of administration along with Anurag Thakur, we can certainly see new and talented people coming up and making India proud at international level.

Apart of all the political and administrative roles Anurag handles, he also is a part of Territorial Indian Army and also a loving husband to Shefali Thakur. Anurag is the first ever BJP MP to be commissioned into territorial army; well it certainly is a new beginning and Anurag is going to pave paths for newer addition to party and national politics.
