About Vidya Vox | Wiki | Bio

Vidya Iyer, better known by her stage name, Vidya Vox, is an Indo-American singer who gained massive popularity and huge fan following in less than two years of having released her first mashup on her YouTube page ‘Vidya Vox’ in 2015.

Born in India and brought up in US, Vidya Vox took Carnatic Classical Music classes with her sister during their childhood and has learnt music from many gurus including Shri D.K. Natarajan. Though fond of music, Vidya never really thought of it as career until late.

It was only in college when she was doing her majors in Psychology from George Washington University preparing for medical school, that she found her inclination towards music.

There she met music composer Shankar Tucker and that was the turning point in her life. She became a vocalist for Shankar’s band and his YouTube Channel ‘The ShrutiBox’.

She soon moved to Mumbai for a couple of years to resume her music classes which she had quit as early as high school. It is evident that talent never dies though!

Once back in US, she released her first mashup cover on her own YouTube Channel ‘Vidya Vox’ in 2015. Since then there has been no looking back for her.
