On Friday (UPSC) Union Public Service Commission announced the Civil Service Exam 2017 result. An OBC candidate Durishetty Anudeep has topped the examination this year and broke a three-year record of female candidates grasping the top spot. Following Durishetty Anudeep, Anu Kumari, as well as Sachin Gupta, stood second and third.
UPSC supposed in the statement that Commission had suggested overall 990 candidates comprising 750 men and 240 women for selection to several central government services. Out of candidates who are suggested for appointment 476 are under general category, 275 under OBC and 165 under Scheduled caste and 74 under scheduled tribe. The candidates who are recommended also comprise 29 physically disabled persons out of which 9 are orthopedic-ally handicapped, and 8 are visually challenged and 12 and hearing impaired.
Saumya Sharma secured ninth overall rank in spite of being physically disabled with hearing impairment as per UPSC. Durishetty Anudeep is an officer of IRS, i.e., Customs and Central Excise of 2014 batch qualified UPSC exam with Anthropology as his optional subject. Durishetty Anudeep was from Metpally in Telangana and is posted in Hyderabad as an Assistant Commissioner. UPSC examination 2017 topper Durishetty Anudeep told Hindustan Times that ‘I started taking an interest in civil services while pursuing an engineering degree. I prepared very hard but cannot succeed in getting through an interview which was conducted by UPSC in the first attempt. After that, I joined Google India as a software engineer in Hyderabad and carried out the preparation of civil’ After he came to know that he had been selected for Telangana cadre he said ‘ it will offer me a chance to serve my home state which has become a reality after the long struggle.’
Father of Durishetty Anudeep expressed his feelings and said that ‘we are pleased about our son toping the civil service examination 2017’. His mother said that ‘we cried a lot when we came to know over the phone about this news over the phone.’

Anu Kumari bagged the second position and is topper amongst the female candidates graduated with BSc Hons in Physics from DU, i.e., Delhi University and completed her MBA in Finance and Marketing from IMT, Nagpur. She told NDTV that ‘strong willpower is actually necessary o attain something in life if you can do that nothing can stop you to be successful.’
Sachin Gupta Achieved The Third Position
A 31-year-old Sachin Gupta secured third in UPSC Civil service Examination 2017. He completed his mechanical engineering from Patiala’s Thapar University and worked with a private company in Gurugram. In his first attempt, he achieved All India Rank of 575. After that, he struggles a lot to improve his rank and desired to go to Bengaluru for coaching. He left his high paid job to focus on the preparations for his examination. He achieved this position because of the constant support of his parents.
