Guru Randhawa: His Becoming

During his childhood, Guru sang in various school competitions and never missed a chance to portray his skills. He had a keen interest in watching television and started growing fond of singing by watching songs that played in them. Guru once won a school competition for having sung 5 different songs.

He wanted to fulfil his passion for singing and wanted to make it his profession. Guru’s debut song as a songwriter was the Same Girl sung by Arjun Coomaraswamy.  which was released in 2013

Guru Randhawa’s first debut album name was ‘Page One’ and was released in 2013.

Though it didn’t establish him as a prominent lyricist, it gave him the urge to continue his passion. His continued struggle kept him grounded to go further, seeking his passion.

Guru’s debut singing was with the song, Chhad Gayi which was released the same year. It didn’t do that good but did manage to give Guru a fan following.

As a writer, singer and music composer, he went on to do many stage shows. Guru once said, “I was once paid Rs. 500 for doing a show”. Since then with his constant perseverance and dedication, Guru has reached the heights of popularity that he deserved.

After Patola, Outfit and Khat did well, Guru Randhawa became a singing sensation. But it didn’t stop there and the sensational Guru went on to make more hit songs like Fashion, Yaar Mod Do and Suit. T-Series signed him and ever since then Guru Randhawa went on to make his career’s biggest hit songs to date like Made In India, High Rated Gabru, Lahore, etc.

Guru Randhawa is a fan of Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh. In composers, he likes A.R. Rahman and Salim-Sulaiman.

Being compared with Diljit Dosanjh, he said “I have grown up singing his songs and can never be compared with him. He is one of my favourite singers.” Guru wants to someday make music with Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber.
