Pingali Venkayya: Life History

In 1921, Gandhi himself recognized the requirement for a national banner and requested that Venkayya plan one. Some trust that the hues and the turning wheel that was initially where the Ashoka Chakra is were the proposals of the father of the country.

In 1931, the banner was formally received by the Indian National Congress.
